The special form of the electromagnetic field, fruit of DEKA Research and Development, enables homogeneous distribution of the intensity, without peaks that cause pain and poor tolerability by the patient. Electrical Stimulation (ES) acts on the peripheral nervous system by electricity using electrodes applied to the skin and sends current through the tissue: treatment is painful and not intense enough to reach muscles. Moreover, gel must be applied to the areas being treated. Magnetic stimulation - on the contrary - does not have to pass through the relatively high resistance of the skin, meaning that pain receptors are not activated. Thus, magnetic stimulation can activate the peripheral muscles without the pain experienced by electrical stimulation.
